Hii friends this is sudhansu from Orissa (Dhenkanal) i am continuing B.tech (Information Technology)-4th Year.
i have given EKT(Engineering Knowledge test) on 24-OCT-2010 @ Barackpore.
Now i am describing about our journey. I along with 3 others friends named Dukhabandhu, GyanPrakash, Ashish Kumar and Rakesh puzzeled how to reach Barrackpore for the EKT.
i swear this is my first long journey away from home and ofcourse for outside of orissa too. Since we are four we had a little confidence even if we havent seen the destination before.
From our native town Dhenkanal we went to CUTTACK railway station and booked ticket (general) for us to Howrah(kolkata). Actually we had planned to go by Chennai Howrah Superfast mail but seeing the peoples crowd in the general compartment we started hesitating. we then decided to go by the next train that is Puri Howrah Express.
No. of people in this train(Puri Howrah Express) was some what less than the previous train so that we are able to enter to the general berth.,but we are so fortunate so that we didnt get a seat on the floor of the general compartment.
After one or two hour we managed to get a single seat for four of us i.e., on the floor (the way actually).One of us sat and we exchange the same seat after one hour for each. The journey was of 6 hour. But since we were going to give the exam we didnt get tiired in this arrangement.
We finally reached at Howrah station at 5 o' clock in the morning, finished our mouth wash and then started asking people for our destination i.e, Barackpore.
From Howrah station we went to the nearest Bus stand which is 250 meter away from the station. And then picked up a bus for the next railway station SEALDAH(Local railway station). from Sealdah there are no. of local trains at an interval of 15 min each.
We booked oour ticket and then picked a train Shantipur local and stepped out from the train at the station PALTA.The Airforce Base Barrackpore is 100 meter walkable distance from the Palta station.
After reaching our destination we relieved breath of peace.We then did our daily work had our tiffin and awaited our turn to go inside.
After long wait we moved inside the airbase. verified our identity and certificates and sat inside a hall named 47 ASC to have our exam.
Exam is of multiple choice type question from the engineering background.The questions were so sily that i bet even the poorest guy can crack so we did.
and then returned exactly the reverse way back to our hoome town.
It was a wonderful journey except in the train.
